Hiatus....

A gap or interruption in space, time, or continuity; a break.

Wow. It's been a long time. 259 days to be exact...

I lost the drive to continue this blog, then it became so long since I posted, it had become harder to post.
Maybe it's time to start back up. Just soo darn much to catch up on. Lots of changes and accomplishments.

Since my last post I have in no real order:

  Started a huge project on my car with Ryan's help, finished it and it's amazing.

  I turned 26 and entered my late 20's. Had a great birthday.

  Celebrated 2 married years with Ryan.

  Celebrated our doggie's 3rd birthday.

  Won awards at 2 car shows. Yeeee! :D

  Attended 6 car shows.




• 
  
  Made some wonderful new friends.




• 
  
  Have decided to grow my hair back out.




• 
  
  Took the Motorcyle Safety course with one of my best friends.




• 
  
  Got my motorcycle endorsement.




• 
  
  Saw 2 of my FAVE bands live.




• 
  
  Visited my mom in Montana.




• 
  
  Got my concealed pistol permit.




• 
  
  Bought my first handgun.




• 
  
  A friend visited from CO twice that I hadn't seen in a long time.




• 
  
  Went horseback riding.




• 
  
  Went crabbing.




• 
  
  Lounged on a mini island.




• 
  
  Got some sun.




• 
  
  Celebrated friends birthdays.




• 
  
  And one of my favorite things of all: I bought my own motorcycle!!

So there you have it, the last 259 days in a nutshell.

I've thought a lot about how as one season comes to an end, I always seem to be ready for the next. Maybe that's natures way of alleviating boredom.

I'll miss summer, but I'm starting to crave fall. Colors, warm clothing, spiced cider and of course, Halloween. Then I will start to hope for crisp, cold and blue sky winter mornings and maybe even a little of that white stuff we so rarely see around here. The cold will start to get to me and I'll wish for spring and new flowers and leaves. Soon though, I'll dream of warm mornings and warm nights without 5 layers of clothing. As the hot days and endless sun become tiresome, fall will be back to welcome me to a new season and a fresh start.

I guess I'm in a thoughtful mood today.

The last couple months and days even, I've felt such animosity towards children that I sometimes fear I'll never want my own. I feel like I am constantly having things happen around me that reinforce my distaste for children. Unruly and rude children in restaurants. Screaming, whining kids in stores. It's unpleasant to say the least.

Yet, looking at one of the blogs I frequent, I start to get a little tug again. Her photos of her new born baby girl stirred something in me.

Maybe I'm not hopeless. Change is always happening it seems and fresh perspectives should always be welcome.

Ryan and I were just hanging out and I was playing with a new lens. He started freaking out and saying "come here!".
Well, luckily I had my camera on me.
I've NEVER seen anything quite like it. At one point we could see 7 waves total.
We drove to a different part of our neighborhood to get a better view. The clouds started to change quickly though.
I'm so glad I witnessed something like this and have pictures to prove I actually saw it!

Wedding Season?

I remember at this time last year I was starting to gear up for one of the most exciting and important moments of my life. Getting all the last details set in stone. About to have a bridal shower. It was a fun time in my life.

After our wedding and during the planning phase I found myself thinking I wanted to go to other people's weddings. I wanted to experience it from the other side.

You see, I've never really been to any weddings. I was a flower girl for my aunt when I was 5, which I barely remember. There were a couple other wedding type things over the years, but nothing that really has stuck with me.

This summer we have three weddings we've been invited to. One this weekend, one in July and one in August. I guess for some people that doesn't seem like a lot. But it is to me.

I'm excited and apprehensive at the same time. Apprehensive because I'm afraid I'll get some wedding jealously. Yes, I am aware of how petty that sounds, but I can't help it. Don't get me wrong, I loved my wedding. But there are a couple things I would have done differently, but money was tight. The three weddings we are going to this summer will be far more elaborate than ours was and sometimes it makes me kind of sad. But when I feel this way, I try to remind myself that ours may not have been super expensive and fancy, we may have taken short cuts, but when it comes down to things Ryan and I have an amazing relationship and marriage. We got married for all the right reasons and are still amazingly happy and in love. And I did have the most perfect dress ever. :)

Plus, with all these weddings coming up, I have the opportunity to wear some cute dresses and shoes and get all fancied up, which is always a treat.

Speaking of, I had my eye on some teal Steve Madden pumps that I saw at Macy's Memorial Day weekend. Well, last weekend I went back and tried them on and fell in love. Amazing and on sale! They are bright(more so than in the photo), fun, cute and so comfortable (2 3/4" heel). They'll get some wear this summer (and after) for sure! They are the Ulltra pump, in case anyone is curious.
